Guildwars Guide

Looking into some products that I can hopefully review for my blog, I recently stumbled upon the official Prima Guildwars guide. Many hardcore Guildwars players had already bought the said guide so I guess it will be a good subject for review.

The official Prima Guildwars guide includes many features. These features includes analysis of every profession, complete skill list, PvP tips and tactics (a must since Guildwars is a game focusing on PvP), highly detailed area maps, complete storyline mission walkthroughs, and a removable world map to boot. These and more are available at a reasonable price.

While this Guildwars guide will really cost you money, how about looking upon the customer's review of this product. While we all know that like other MMORPGs, the Guildwars environment is an ever changing world, can this guide really contain the best tactics and strategies you can use as you battle monsters and other players in-game?

This official Guildwars guide is currently rated 3.5 stars among Amazon.com customers. Not bad for an MMORPG guide (considering the ever-changing MMORPG scene), but is it really worth your money?

After reviewing some of the comments on this Guildwars guide, I can safely conclude that this one's pretty average. Most of the people exclaimed that it features the most accurate maps, which really conquered the plus side of this guide. The character descriptions and main quests analysis are good as well and will be a good starting point for every beginner wishing to get playing right the first time. However, this doesn't hide the fact that the info included in the book can be very outdated since the book had been released during the beta stages of Guildwars. Therefore, this guide may not be much help to the advanced Guildwars player that wants to see something new to add to his/her gameplay.

All in all, I suggest you just join forums and as your in-game friends on the aspects of the game. After playing MMORPG after MMORPG, I really believe that asking someone from discussion groups is the best guide of all since these kinds of game environment changes a lot. Especially when expansions are released on a constant basis just like in Guildwars. However, for the lazy, you can always check out the Guildwars guide. :)
